His Wonderful Word

"Our Bible is the greatest book in the world. Not an opinion but a FACT! It is a book from God, about God. "

It was penned by God's men about how to be God's Children, His people. Now, what is better than having the Bible in your own possession, filled with so much power and promise, and is the most tangible thing that we have of God? Better yet, what is better than having God's Word hidden within your heart constantly marinating your spirit? "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you" (Psalm 119:11). To have God's Word hidden within your heart is powerful. As we constantly allow His word to flow to our hearts and to sink deep down within it, we become a walking Bible not just for others but for ourselves. Not only that, but we are drastically detoxified from the many impurities and fallacies of this world that we live in. The truth becomes more evident and known and concurrently sets us free from chains, from sin. But in order for these chains to be effectively shattered in their entirety, this requires us to do something major but simple: Pick up the Bible, Get in God, and Hide Him in your heart!

Proverbs 23:7 reminds us that what we think within our hearts is what we are. Letting God's Word within our hearts flushes out worldly blood clots and disposes of the gunk that is in our bloodstreams. The more we hide His word within our hearts and live by it and meditate on it, the more we allow God's Word to be our every heartbeat and our every pulsation. His Word becomes that reminder that we so desperately need in a corrupt world because this Sword can violently slice through any lie. For instance, think about how the things you say shape your outlook on you, your situations and the people you encounter from a day-to-day basis. Usually when you think things, you act upon those thoughts, say it verbally, or let it dwell within your mind. Keeping the greatest living book inside of our hearts produces life anew within us and in the lives of others and protects us. It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks but what are we feeding our hearts? We must think on the things that are true, pure, righteous, just and of good report, the things of God, so that our hearts would spew out these exact things. We were already born into sin; we automatically know how to pursue after bad, feed negative thoughts, and think on things that are not of God. But keeping our hearts fixated on God takes work and consistency; it takes getting in Him every chance and opportunity we get.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). We have to remember that we are forever lost without God and His guidance. He tells us to lean not unto our own understanding but His. We must uproot our ideas of right and wrong and our concept of "ideal" morals and let His Word be the prime light within our hearts. Really hiding His Word within our hearts makes our lives that much more easier. Our Bible is not an obsolete book that does not apply today; God is forever relevant. By shifting our thoughts and ways, nevertheless, to the thoughts and ways of God, we become spiritually revolutionized and empowered.

Another bitter sweet attribute of Hiding (and keeping) God's Word within our hearts is CONVICTION! This is one God's greatest disciplinary governors to and it dictates our behavior. Conviction has always been around. The question is how sensitive are we to His conviction and do we obey it/listen to it when it shows up? For example, do you remember an authoritative figure or adult telling you NOT to do something before a particular situation even presented itself, such as don't steal, don't lie, don't cheat, don't roll your eyes, don't smack your lips, don't talk back, or don't be DISOBEDIENT? Before the temptation has made itself known and visible before you, you were already told what not to do! Warning always comes before destruction and obedience will forever be better than sacrifice. Conviction is present before the temptation, during the temptation when we are contemplating sinning/not sinning, and after the temptation if we have sinned. Same goes for God and His Word. The Bible is filled with laws, instruction, wisdom, knowledge and guidance that is present to help recognize sin and escape it. Upon first glance, the Bible can seem like a book that contain nothing but do's and don'ts but if we have this pessimistic attitude behind God and His intentions for His Word, we have missed the big picture.

Hiding the Word in your heart and APPLYING it makes you one bad weapon for God. But in order to even have it hidden inside, it is undeniably important that we allow it to reach every chamber within our hearts. Don't allow any room for the enemy but all room God! Put the truth you have learned into action in your personal life. For what is the use having it remain dormant within us? VAIN! The word that is hidden within our heart should begin to violently abrupt from our hearts and spill into our lifestyles DAILY! Process work this is but it's possible through Jesus Christ; all things are!
