Back around September of 2009, Seanton, after much prayer and fasting, decided to totally die out to his flesh and go all out for God. He told me that God told him if he really wants to experience Him in the way He wanted to experience him, then he needed to do this. If you knew Seanton, whatever he did, if he was genuinely interested in excelling in it, he did it at 150%. As Seanton began to consecrate himself more and more, he gave up everything that he felt would keep him from gaining the supernatural anointing that he desired. He would tell me that he wanted to see angels in his room, wanted to be able to walk up to people and lay hands on them and they be healed instantly, and be used of God in a mighty way. He was not satisfied anymore with the status quo of church and the routine of church. He also was animate about the fact that families needed to be more unified and be on one mind and one accord in the things of God, just like on the Day of Pentecost in the book of Acts, and that today’s church needed that too. As time progressed, Seanton would spend hours in prayer, and hours reading the Bible (many times I would have to tell him at 12 or 1am to go to bed due to having to get up for school at 5:30am). He gave up watching television totally, gave away his Xbox, and only wanted to concentrate on spiritual things. School was even becoming less interesting, along with band and basketball, the two things he was passionate about. One Friday evening we watched at our church the DVD, “The Truth Behind Hip Hop”, by G. Craig Lewis. We had seen all of the previous versions but this one really intrigued Seanton. He began to spend hours studying the things he learned in this video and he became very knowledgeable about things that were very deep concerning the Word of God and truths that had never been revealed. There were many times during our family Bible study time that I had to really know my stuff and times where he knew some things that I had not really thought about or studied. He began to talk to many people at his school about what he was learning and God began to use him in a mighty way. Several times he had friends over to our house and before you knew it, they were back in his room praying and seeking God. He even would go to his friend’s houses and help them pray until the Spirit of God filled them! As all this was happening, I sat Seanton down one day and told him that all that he was doing for God was awesome, but on the flip side of things he would need to be prepared for the attack of the enemy, satan. We would talk about spiritual warfare and how important it was to have the “whole armor of God” according to Ephesians 6:10-18. Also, I would tell him that in order to receive the anointing he desired, he would suffer persecution according to 2 Timothy 2:12 and 3:12. We would talk about many other scriptures and Bible stories such as the story of Joseph, who suffered persecution but
finally became the most powerful man in Egypt behind Pharaoh, and Paul, and even Jesus himself. Being the 15 year old that he was, he didn't really understand true suffering as he had not endured much of that yet and because of that he would tell me that he could not imagine what could happen to him that would be so bad. He would always say that he was prepared for whatever would happen because he wanted that "next level" so bad. Many have asked the question “why did this happen?”, or “how could this happen to such a godly person and a great young man?” Though this pain stings beyond belief at times for me and my family, and is a very difficult situation to handle, this is what has been in God's plan for some time. Our steps are ordered of the Lord, according to the Word of God, so we must not question the hand of God. Knowing that Seanton and I had so many talks about this comforts me and reminds me that "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” and Seanton was in complete love with the Lord and was called for a purpose. There is so much more work for him to do! So yes he will have a tremendous testimony like many of you have said, and it will be a testimony that will ignite revival across this community, this city, this state, and even this nation one day!! I truly believe that!!!Today, Seanton struggles in his “test” to recover from a traumatic brain injury, suffered from a pellet gun injury to the head on June 11, 2010. Though his road has been difficult, and his journey will consist of many more challenges ahead of him, he has made tremendous strides toward his destiny. Seanton, as well as the entire Jorden family, solicits your prayers as we “fight the good fight of faith”, holding fast to Jeremiah 29:11, that says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” In Jesus’ mighty name, may God bless you and keep you in His loving arms!
